HPPSC HPAS Recruitment 2026 – Selection Procedure
The selection process for HPAS Recruitment 2026 is conducted in three stages. Candidates must qualify each stage to move forward.
- Stage 1 – Preliminary Examination
- Two objective papers (MCQs) of 200 marks each.
- Paper‑I: General Studies | Paper‑II: Aptitude Test (qualifying, minimum 33%).
- Duration: 2 hours per paper.
- Negative marking: 1/3 mark deducted for each wrong answer.
- Marks of Preliminary Exam are not counted for final merit.
- Stage 2 – Main Examination
- Includes compulsory papers: English, Hindi, Essay, General Studies I, II, III.
- One optional subject paper (Paper VII & VIII).
- Minimum qualifying marks: 40% in English & Hindi, 45% aggregate (excluding English & Hindi).
- Candidates called for Personality Test will not exceed 3 times the number of vacancies.
- Stage 3 – Personality Test/Interview
- Conducted to assess suitability, mental calibre, intellectual qualities, social traits, and awareness of Himachal Pradesh’s customs, manners, and dialects.
- Final merit is prepared based on Main Examination + Personality Test scores combined.
