Selection Process – HPSC HCS Exam 2026 

1. Preliminary Exam – Screening only; 2 papers (GS & CSAT). 

1. Negative marking: 0.25 per wrong answer. 

2. CSAT qualifying with 33% marks. 

3. Prelims marks not counted in final merit. 

2. Main Written Exam – 6 descriptive papers (English, Hindi, GS I–IV). 

1. Minimum 45% aggregate + 33% in language papers. 

2. PwBD relaxation up to 35%. 

3. Personality Test / Viva‑Voce – 75 marks. 

1. 3x candidates called for interview. 

2. Final merit = Mains + Interview (675 marks).
