Selection Procedure – East Coast Railway GDCE 2026
- Assistant Loco Pilot Single stage CBT (120 min, 100 questions) + CBAT. Merit list with 50% CBT + 50% CBAT. Minimum T‑score 42 required in each CBAT battery.
- Station Master Single stage CBT (90 min, 120 questions) + CBAT. Merit list with 70% CBT + 30% CBAT. Minimum T‑score 42 required in each CBAT battery.
- Goods Trains Manager Single stage CBT (90 min, 120 questions). No Aptitude Test.
- Junior Engineer Single stage CBT (120 min, 150 questions). No Aptitude Test.
- Technician Grade III Single stage CBT (90 min, 100 questions). No Aptitude Test.
- Junior Clerk cum Typist Single stage CBT (90 min, 120 questions) + Typing Skill Test (CBTST). Qualifying nature – 30 WPM English / 25 WPM Hindi. Candidates equal to 8× vacancies called for CBTST.
- Commercial Clerk cum Ticket Collector Single stage CBT (90 min, 120 questions). No Skill Test.
Common Rules for All Posts
- Negative marking: 1/3rd marks for each wrong answer in CBT (no negative marking in CBAT).
- Shortlisting: 8× vacancies for CBAT/Typing Skill Test.
- Document Verification: Equal to number of vacancies, based on merit.
- Medical Exam: As per prescribed standards.
- Minimum qualifying marks: UR – 40%, OBC – 30%, SC – 30%, ST – 25% (PwBD relaxation of 2 marks if shortage).
- Tie‑breaking: Older candidate preferred; if age same, alphabetical order of name (A–Z).

- Step 1: Visit the official website www.rrcbbs.org.in and open the GDCE 2026 online application link.
- Step 2: Read all instructions and eligibility criteria carefully before starting the form.
- Step 3: Keep scanned copies ready in JPEG format – recent passport size photo (not older than 3 months), signature, and self‑attested certificates (DOB, qualification, caste, PwBD).
- Step 4: Fill in personal details/BIO‑DATA including IPAS ID, HRMS ID, and Date of Birth accurately.
- Step 5: Upload photo (35mm × 45mm, JPEG, 100 DPI, up to 100 KB) and signature (50mm × 20mm, JPEG, 100 DPI, 10–40 KB).
- Step 6: Obtain ‘NO OBJECTION’ from the controlling authority of your department.
- Step 7: Print the filled application, get it forwarded by the controlling officer, and upload the signed copy under supporting documents (mandatory).
- Step 8: Verify all details and click the Register button. Note that no changes can be made after registration.
- Step 9: Save the unique application number generated and download/print the application in PDF format.
